Commercial Arbitration Acts

Prior to 2010, domestic legislation regarding arbitration varied between the different states and territories within Australia. The Model Commercial Arbitration Bill was agreed upon by the Standing Committee of General Attorneys in 2010 as a means of creating a uniform domestic arbitration law throughout Australia. All Australian States and Territories have adopted and enacted (subject to the note below) versions of the Model law creating a uniform framework for domestic arbitration in Australia.
